The American Polish Council of Long Island, Inc. was founded in 1963 by Leon Young for the purpose of fostering social, civic and cultural activities among its members. We also promote close cooperation and mutual assistance to other Polish-American organizations in achieving the common goals of the American Polish Community in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Some of the events sponsored by The Council sponsors are:
“THE POLISH DAY PICNIC” held every June and “THE POLISH NIGHT”
held every July in Eisenhower Park.

Annually, we also award a COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP to qualified students in the Polish community, in memory of Leon Young.

We encourage all residents of Long Island that are of Polish descent to become members of APCLI. Your membership gains you new friends, exposure to the Polish heritage, culture, tradition and insight to the activities of other organizations of the vast Polish community on Long Island.
